Lady Gaga
The woman born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta but better known by her stage name Lady Gaga, seemingly came from nowhere to take the pop world by storm. Honing her songwriting and performing skills in the clubs of New York’s Lower East Side, Lady Gaga was signed to Interscope Records on the recommendation of R& B star Akon, an artist that Gaga had been writing songs for. Lady Gaga soon exploded on to the scene with her debut album The Fame in August 2008 spear headed by the astonishing success of first two singles Just Dance and Poker Face.
Kiss
Few bands capture the mythology of rock n roll better than Kiss. Blending a unique mix of hard rock and live theatrics Kiss drew heavily from fellow New Yorkers, The New York Dolls and Alice Cooper, to inspire their now world famous make up and costume designs.
